I am constantly on the lookout for great wordpress themes.
I have about 40 wordpress blogs, so having a well designed, easily customizable blog design is very important to me.
I have been always been a fan of Chris Pearson’s wordpress themes.
And he’s outdone himself with the Thesis Theme. It’s not just a Wordpress Theme, it’s an SEO and design platform unto itself.
The Thesis Theme is the Best WordPress Theme I’ve ever used.
It is a high-quality template system which can be used to improve your site immediately.
DIYThemes which is the site behind Thesis claims it has the strongest SEO of any theme on the market today. The theme is an expertly-coded HTML + CSS + PHP framework.
You can also easily change your design to a 1, 2, even 3 column design. See Graphic Below

What I love about it the support network, forum, regular upgrades, and most of the all the custom functions which allow you to upgrade without losing all your customization.
There’s also a blog with loads of design tips and information such as:
# How to Customize Your Site Intelligently with Hooks
# How to Add Custom Backgrounds
The Thesis WordPress theme is a premium theme for serious online publishers
I’ve got the developer option and am migrating many of my sites over to it. There’s also an affiliate program. See more of my Thesis sites in the sidebar.
Obviously, this site is the Thesis design.

Dan, I would say variety is the best solution.
My blog on Apple Macs - http://www.blunck.dk/loves-apple-mac - is naturally different from my blog on making an income online - http://www.blunck.dk/earning-money-online.
What one needs is not to become stereotype. Who doesn’t remember the overly ads-oriented blogs such as John Chow, John Cow etc? Everything blinks, jumps, moves etc, and you would take away from your content by selecting such a theme.
I like the Thesis theme you have on this blog, and would say changing your theme regularly would be a good decision to split-test whether it has any effect for your specific niche.
My 0.02$ on the subject.

Henrik, That is one of the coolest things about the Thesis theme.. It’s customizable so you can change it to a 1,2, 3 column theme. You can change the sidebar placement left, right, split. It’s so customizable, even Copyblogger.com is using it.
